STATUS: ANALYSIS PHASE COMPLETED — THIS IS THE DELIVERABLE AND THE PRELUDE TO THE FIRST IMPLEMENTATION PHASE (LEAN MVP)

ABSTRACT — kBTC STAKING MODULE (LEAN MVP)

  • EVM-first, aligned with JAM, with a clear path to PolkaVM.
  • Scope (Phase 1): stake kBTC -> earn non-transferable Points; optional ERC-20 rewards via MINTER_ROLE.
  • Key components: StakingVault, PointsEmitter, optional ExternalTokenMinter.
  • Deliverables: minimal TypeScript SDK and alpha-lite UI (stake/unstake/claim, balances/points).
  • Quality & Ops: tests with >= 80% coverage; Slither static analysis; basic invariants; testnet deploy scripts + short runbook (pause, parameter changes).
  • Timeline / Budget: ~12 weeks, $25k.
  • Success targets: public testnet live; >= 50 stake/claim transactions; >= 2 partner/community integrations; mainnet readiness checklist with staged caps.
  • Phase 2 (later): slashing; risk oracles; dynamic reward curves; timelocked governance; external audit.

We’ve seen the questions about our proposal—and they’re understandable given today’s crypto climate. To be clear: our proposal is legitimate. We are an independent team (not part of Interlay) supported by several large stakeholders who prefer to remain private for now. Our goal is collaboration, not confrontation.

We’ve already published the first installment of the committed design and we’re ready to move into implementation. Since the CORE team appears to be in maintenance mode, we’re stepping up to execute: first by validating our approach on Kintsugi (the canary network), proving we can stabilize and grow kBTC, and then replicating the playbook for iBTC. We’re open to any questions, clarifications, and we’d welcome a technical deep-dive to walk through the plan, milestones, and success metrics.

I'm considering this a fraudulent proposal to extract money from the treasury and encourage the community to downvote this.

Thank you for sharing your perspective Dom.

All the detailed information about the scope, approach, and expected outcomes is included in the full detail document attached to the proposal. As outlined there, this stage is intentionally designed as an experimental phase — the goal is to gather concrete, verifiable results that will allow us to make a well-informed and smooth transition to Interlay.

We also maintain our position of carrying out this work without placing any direct development or operational commitment on the CORE team. This way, we ensure that the experimental scope can be explored efficiently, transparently, and without burdening existing core resources, while still delivering public and auditable work for the ecosystem.
