The Interlay team has informed the community in a discussion post that the staking rewards can be activated. 

The next step is hence to activate staking rewards via an on-chain governance proposal.

### Requesting TC Fast-track

Since everything is ready and the community has been waiting for staking to be activated, a fast-track by the Technical Committee is requested. This way, staking rewards can go live on March 15. Without TC, this would be delayed by another 2 weeks (up to 7 days before the proposal becomes a referendum, and another week of voting and enactment).
